The Brocade
exercises are rooted in Qi Gong, the breath therapeutic exercises of Tai Chi. The
exercises are specially valuable for people that work long houses at a desk and
are an ideal life time exercise for most people. The Brocade sequence consists
of 8 movement components. All movements are coordinated with the breath and the
breath carries the movements. The speed is henceforth always defined by the
breath.
The
exercises are easy to be learned and develop the full power by regular
exercise. By varying the number of repetitions of each single exercise, you can
accommodate potential time restrains and use any available time to do something
for your relaxation and health.
Even so I practice
more complex forms of Tai Chi, the Brocade exercises are still close to my heart
and remained a part of my meditative movement program. Whether at the sea, the
hill behind the house, in the garden, in Germany, Laos, Cambodia or India - it is most beautiful to find
yourself a nice place outdoors for your regular exercise.
The
exercises are also a wonderful entry point for all those interested in the more
complex Tai Chi forms.
